Galileo the Scientist
Science owes much to Galileo
Galilei for it was he who revolutionized scientific study. For this, he is called
"Father of Modern Science." Until Galileo's time, science was
a philosophical and mathematical discipline that was based only on theory and
interpretation of ideas without empirical proof. It was Galileo who changed all that
by introducing experimentation to the study of science and, by doing so, debunked many of
the accepted scientific and philosophical theories.
